Supporting You - Local Churches Trusts

Local Churches Trusts

The National Churches Trust works closely with a number of other local Trusts to promote, support and, in some cases, provide grants for places of worship. The Trusts listed on this page cover most of the country and in England are often collectively known as the ‘County Churches Trusts’.  These Trusts all possess local knowledge of the churches, chapels and meeting houses in their own area. They work tirelessly to support both our nation’s church buildings and those charged with their care.

The Trusts offer a range of events, walks and talks to raise funds and to pass on their knowledge of the buildings they love.  The majority of the Trusts also provide grants to eligible church buildings in their area. To check if you have a project that is eligible for funding please visit the specific Trust’s website, by following the links on this page or by seeing what is In Your Area.

Discussions are underway about providing similar support in Wales - please revisit our website for future developments.

Most of the Trusts in England also participate in the annual sponsored Ride & Stride event, which offers a fun-filled day to people of all ages and abilities and provides much-needed funds directly to the churches visited. Participants can be sponsored to travel between a number of church buildings or to stay at their own church to provide refreshments to visitors. For more details about this event, visit www.rideandstride.org.
