Westminster Abbey celebrates our 60th Anniversary
Westminster Abbey has celebrated the 60th anniversary of the National Churches Trust with a service in the Nave at 11.30 am on Thursday 28 November. Over 2,000 people attended the service and you can read about some of the people present on our blog.
The service was attended by HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO and HRH The Duchess of Gloucester GCVO. The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, delivered the address during the service which you can listen to here
Other people taking part including actress Geraldine James, who read a poem specially written for the service by Dr Rowan Williams. Scripture readings were given by Bear Grylls, adventurer, writer and television presenter and Bettany Hughes, historian and broadcaster.
