The Church of England has launched its Joint Cathedral Fabric Repair Fund in partnership with the Pilgrim Trust and the Wolfson Foundation. The fund, which operated in pilot form in the second half of 2010, is intended to partly fill the gap left by the closure of English Heritage’ Cathedral Grants Scheme at the end of 2009. The fund totals £600,000 for 2011 and is available for major repairs to the historic fabric of Church of England cathedrals, with awards of up to £125,000 – matched funding is also required. Details of the scheme and application form are available on the Churchcare website here.
