Originally in the Greek Revival style, the interior would have been lit only from above. However, alterations at the end of the century gave gallery lighting on both sides. The interior is still dramatic.

The large original skylight is above Arts & Crafts fittings. The gallery has an elaborate filigree iron front supported by slim columns.
