A classic mid 19th century Victorian Gothic church with stained glass by Thomas Willement; 'the father of Victorian stained glass'.

The church family here at St Anne's is privileged to be able to meet in this remarkable Grade I listed building which was commissioned during the reign of Queen Anne as part of the Fifty New Churches Act in 1711.

The church tower is visible for miles around, and is in the 'Levels' style. The figures around the church roof are either gargoyles (water spouts) or Hunky Punks, a local name for grotesque carvings which are not gargoyles.
