Truro Cathedral is Cornwall's cathedral - a beautiful building built in the Gothic style it stands at the heart of the picturesque city of Truro.

The tiny village is home to an historic Quaker meeting house, a cob and straw thatch building dating from 1710 and containing glass dating from 1640.

The Cathedral is a fine example of a fortified kirk, with twin towers built in the fashion of 14th century tower houses and now with spires added in the 15th century.

Known as 'the Ancient Church by the Sea' the parish church of Gerrans is the dominant feature of the local landscape, standing on the brow of a hill overlooking the sea.

The parish is named after the Cornish word for water 'Dowr' and lies near the point where two rivers meet.

The current church building dates from the 13th century. It was consecrated by Bishop Walter Bronescombe on the 14th August 1261.
