The present church was probably built in the early 12th century and houses an important series of late medieval wall paintings executed shortly after the completion of the church in the mid 15th century.

Dating back to the 13th century, St Mawgan in Meneage, was one of two churches established in Cornwall by St Mawgan, a 6th century abbot bishop who travelled from Pembroke to Brittany.

This is one of Cornwall’s largest and architecturally most intriguing churches, retaining an open feel partly because the pews were removed altogether at one time and when replaced in the 1970s wide alleyways were left, as they would have been in medieval times, to allow for processions to pass easily.

Marazion church, across the bay from St Michael’s Mount, is perhaps best renowned for the hymn writer Henry Francis Lyte (1793-1847) who wrote ‘Praise my soul, the king of heaven’ and ‘Abide with me’.

Built in 1895 this chapel is a fine example of provincial, gothic style with fine stained glass windows throughout.

The oldest Quaker Meeting House in Cornwall built in 1688, overlooking St Michael's Mount, Mount's Bay.

The abbey is a spectacular sight, perched on a rocky hill and surrounded by blue waters, at low tide, the Mount is approached by a historic stone causeway, used by pilgrims in the Middle Ages.

In 1843 this was and still remains, the first and largest post reformation Catholic church to be built in Cornwall.

Under the Act of 1843, districts were separated from large parishes and were known as ‘Peel Districts’, from Sir Robert Peel who promoted the Act.

Set in prime position, the little white washed village church has an excellent view overlooking the sea and harbour and a very peaceful atmosphere making you feel welcome.

The village church of St Winwaloe is said to be one of the oldest in Cornwall and is mentioned in the Domesday Book.
