A church set in ‘Clay Country’ 600ft above sea level on the site of an Iron Age fort and looking out towards Newquay and the north coast of Cornwall.

Opened in 1879, designed by Sir Robert Rowand Anderson and Arthur Clyne, this is a beautiful church.

On entering the Cathedral all the awkwardness of the red brick exterior disappears and you find yourself in an inspiring church quite unlike any other you will have ever seen.

The 20th century Cathedral, a blend of Gothic and Romanesque, stands in a prominent position on the north east side of Oban Bay and its imposing tower looms over the Corran Esplanade.

The site upon which this little church is built has been holy ground for some 1400 years and it is known that around 550AD Saint Mevan and Saint Issey busied themselves in this neighbourhood organising the early Celtic church.

The beautiful building is located in the very west of County Fermanagh not far from the village of Garrison close to the shores of Lough Melvin, it is steeped in history as far back as the Vikings.

St Cubert was a Welsh missionary who came over in the 7th century, together with his companion St Carantoc.

At St Ewe village the road widens just a bit at the market cross and mounting steps, through the gate you'll see the camellia developed by Mr Tregunna of Caerhayes and named St Ewe.

The patron saint of Creed is first recorded as St Crite in the 10th century and may well have been a Cornish saint and possibly the daughter of either King Mark of Cornwall or an Irish king.

Visit the church with the tallest tower in Cornwall and see the highly decorative mosaic reredos and both of the well known Hawkins memorials, the marble one inside the church, and the ‘Cavalier’ tomb in the churchyard.

The chapel of St Ninian Braemar was built in 1898 at the same time as Mar Lodge, for the 1st Duke of Fife who married Princess Louise, the granddaughter of Queen Victoria.

Built between 1899 and 1907 to cater for the many English tourists visiting Deeside and Braemar, St Margaret's one of Comper's most important designs.
