This town centre church dates from the early 13th century but was much rebuilt following a fire in 1290 which devastated much of the town.

John Hughes, the famous Methodist minister, preached and lived at the chapel until his death in 1854.

Kinlet church no longer has a village around it, but stands in a rather remote location in the grounds of Kinlet Hall.
