A church has exsisted on the site since at least the 16th century. Parish records date back to 1611, and the names of of Incumbents date from 1590. It was rebuilt in 1874. The east end has some remarkable ancient glass, the earliest pieces rescued from the the old church are dated at around 1305. The Lady Chapel contains an Elizabethan altar table.
