Serving a small and scattered hamlet, St Michael's is a 14th century church built in local sandstone.

The oldest feature in the church is its Romanesque font and a fine old tomb carving of a knight, now stood in the chancel. It has a small wooden bell turret with octagonal spire, and a south porch.

The churchyard contains graves belonging to the Whittington family, descendants of Richard (Dick) Whittington whose family owned the valley in the 14th century.
