Tiny and remote, the whitewashed church at Chalbury dates back as far as the 12th century but contains a full 18th century set of perfectly preserved furnishings, including three decker pulpit, squire's pew and box pews.

Opposite the squire's pew is a row of seats for servants, while some of the enclosed pews were reserved for different farms in the area.
The nave is separated from the chancel by a delightful arch supported on slender wooden pillars.
