Ulcombe, Kent
There has been a place of worship site going back to pre Christian times. One of our Yew trees in the graveyard has been dated to over 2400 years old. It became a Collegiate Church is 1213 which is probably why it is a larger church than you would expect for a small village.
There are beautiful medieval wall paintings and a fine example of a pre reformation alter. The north or St Leger chapel was added in the 15th century and contains brasses of the St Leger family dating 1470. There is also a large stained glass window which contains examples of medieval glass.
The church has beautiful acoustics and regularly holds concerts. Tea and coffee is always available at the rear and we welcome visitors to come and spend time in this beautiful church and enjoy the wonderful views over the weald.
