Broughderg, County Tyrone
The church of Our Lady of the Wayside is located along the road between Greencastle and Draperstown in a prominent setting in a highly scenic area of the Sperrins.
The church was dedicated and opened in September 1985, replacing the older church of 1885 located a short distance away. The parish priest of the day was Revd Seamus Shields , the Architects were Hegarty Masterson Doherty of Derry, and the building contractor was J and M Begley of Carrickmore.
The church has an attractive bright and spacious interior with some similarities to other quality churches of the 1970s and 80s. Modern glass to the church windows and an interesting tapestry on the sanctuary rear wall.
