Dating back to the late 1200s and Grade II* listed, the church comprises a nave with south aisle and, to the east, a chancel and Lady Chapel.

At the west end of the nave is a square tower with 6 working bells, a clock and a ringing chamber and housing a small vestry at the bottom. The walls are sandstone and the build was extended in Victorian times. The church is entered by the north door, and a small side door is located in the Lady Chapel. A Norman font sits at the west end with the organ pipes on the wall above (fitted 1985).

Wooden pews occupy much of the church with chairs in the lady chapel. The reredos behind the lady chapel table is from local alabaster. The east window contains stained glass by Henry Holliday after the first world war. There is a wooden pulpit and lectern. Video screens and a livestreaming system have been installed.
