This beautiful little church, one of Falkirk's outstanding buildings, was designed in 1864 by Sir Rowand Anderson at the start of his illustrious career and was judged by the architectural historian, Richard Jacques, to be one of Sir Robert's first works and one of his best.

The church was built to a Norman design and was an early work of Sir Robert Anderson, built 1863-64. It consists of a four bay nave with porch at the northwest corner, a south transept opening through two of the bays, a chancel with organ aisle, semicircular apse and a vestry under the organ aisle. the roof is open timber and the nave is lightened by plain single point windows. The east gable has a bellcote at the junction of the nave and chancel.
This is a small and compact church but which seats 120 comfortably. The interior of yellow brick banded with red has seen some alterations but has retained its charm.
