100 years later a group formed Tonbridge Baptist Church while the main body remained Congregationalists until joining with others 40 years ago to become part of the new United Reformed Church denomination.
We form part of the history of Christianity in Kent, starting in a meeting room behind a pub in the north end of the town around 270 years ago, before moving to the current site. The original church crypt was damaged in the Tonbridge flood of 1967, leading to it demolition.
The church was rebuilt in the 1970s by the prayers and hard work of its congregation.
