The church is set in its own carefully maintained grounds. The church has a fascinating history dating back to 1872. Inside, the building is beautiful and has stone arches, stained glass windows and a high wooden roof. There is also a traditional organ.

The first church on the site was built in 1872 and was an iron church built in three stages, the nave, aisles and transept, then the chancel in 1894 and the tower in 1911. The western narthex was added as a war memorial.
