In the picturesque village of Cosby, you will find the Methodist Church, now part of the Leicester Trinity Circuit.

It was built in 1922 to replace a Primitive Methodist Chapel founded in 1886. There are two memorial stained glass windows and memorial stones from the previous church. These bear the names of Mr E Jennings and Mr E Reynolds, laid on behalf of themselves and their classes in St Nicholas Street Church, Leicester. The St Nicholas St Church was demolished when the Great Central Railway came through Leicester, The date stone from the old chapel is built into the back end wall. In the schoolroom are named bricks, for which members paid 5 shillings.

There is a pipe organ built by Porritt of Leicester in 1924. Currently (2022) the organ is not playable, as the blower was damaged by flooding in 2021. After visiting the Methodist Church, wander around the village, and you will find a Baptist Church, probably designed by the same architect. And, in Chapel Lane, not one but two converted Methodist churches! One Primitive Methodist, and one United Methodist Free Church. Take time to wander around the village and see the stream and other interesting buildings.
