Built to the architect Billings unique design in 1854, our church has many beautiful features.

St John the Evangelist has been a place of worship since 1854 the feeling of peace when entering the church especially when the sunshine floods in is quite magical.
Situated on Hadrian’s Wall Path we have visitors most days during the summer months it would be lovely to offer them refreshments and a comfort break aswell as time for reflection and meditation, with this in mind we are in the process of fundraising to install a toilet and kitchen facilities.
