St John's has been serving the local community in Dukinfield, Tameside since it was built in 1841. The Grade II church building was designed by E Sharpe and built of hammer dressed stone. It is visible as a landmark across the Tame Valley. In 2012 a new church centre was completed which links to the church building to provide space for our busy and thriving groups and activities from children's church to foodbank. The 19th century reformer Joseph Rayner Stephens is buried in our (closed) graveyard.
