With its cathedral like in proportions and presence, St Cuthbert's epitomises late 12th to early 13th century Early English style, with extensive use of wall arcading to frame both internal and external windows.

St Petrox church at the mouth of the river is the oldest of the three parish churches, the earliest reference being in 1192 when it is thought to have been referred to in a deed as the 'monastery of St Peter'.

Gazing across the River Dart from Kingswear, you can see the ancient church of St Saviour.

The church is a fine example of late perpendicular architecture.

A family church.

One of the most complete surviving Saxon churches in England, this chapel was built in 1056 by Earl Odda, a relation of Edward the Confessor.

St Mary's is one of the most complete buildings to survive from before the Norman Conquest.
