Fine example of Austin & Paley architecture, St Michael's originated as a chapel of ease to nearby St Andrew's, to cope with the rising population in the area.

A beautiful church in the Georgian gothic revival style, built in 1837, with a bright interior with clean lines.

The earliest reference to a church is from 1141 although it is probable that one existed here well before the Norman Conquest.
