The name 'Fiskerton' means Fisherman's town and Fiskerton was both a fishing and farming village until the drainage of the Witham Fens after 1782.

The Noel family of Exton Park, Earls of Gainsborough, have held the manor here since the 17th century, the church has some of the finest church monuments in any parish church in the country.

The churchyard site was an ancient burial ground going back to Anglo Saxon times, a buried Celtic cross, dating back to approximately 750AD, now sits proudly in the entrance porch.

This Grade I church is at the centre of a gorgeous rural village, with a classic village pub, and is the most peaceful place to spend a few minutes.
