This Grade I church is situated on the banks of the Thames.

Dating back to the 12th century, the magnificent monastic church that survived the dissolution of this Benedictine Abbey.

The date carved in the stone above the door of this simple meeting house shows that it was built in the same year as the Toleration Act of 1689.

Founded as a monastic community in 654AD, the cathedral became one of the most significant medieval abbeys in the country, the burial place of two queens and the scene of Civil War upheavals.

By 1816 a brick shed on the site had been converted for use as a mortuary chapel and when the graveyard was enlarged in 1871 it was replaced by the small brick building which we see today.

The small church of St Michael dates to at least the 12th century, with evidence of alteration in the 13th, 14th, and 15th centuries, plus a comprehensive restoration in 1860 under the direction of James Fowler, a church architect from Louth.

On the northern side of the Great Orme at Llandudno, nestling in a sheltered hollow, is the church of Saint Tudno with its churchyard.

This Grade I church is mainly Perpendicular.
