Set in a leafy churchyard in a quiet part of Spalding, this handsome stone church has a fascinatingly complex exterior with numerous elements added at different periods.

On entering the Cathedral all the awkwardness of the red brick exterior disappears and you find yourself in an inspiring church quite unlike any other you will have ever seen.

The church of St Mary in Abbeycwmhir was built in 1865 by Mary Beatrice Phillips, sister of the squire.

The church was built in the Decorated style in1864/65, by WJ Hopkins.
