The Bolsover Colliery Company gave the site and £3,000 for the building of this miners’church, in red brick, which was dedicated in 1928.

West Kirby URC is a friendly, informal church community seeking to welcome people of all ages and backgrounds.

The story of the church, originally known as Trinity Presbyterian Church begins with an inspired Victorian gentleman named Samuel Stitt.

Its very tall spire, at 281ft (86m), is the most arresting thing about St Elphin's.
