Explore the countryside of north Doncaster and you will discover the village of Kirk Bramwith and set alongside the River Dun navigation floodplain the tiny church of St Mary is a lovely place to visit.

A superb late 11th century church with a stained glass window by Charles Kempe in the Saxon tower and a fine marble tomb of Sir Christopher Wray, Chief Justice of England during Elizabeth I's reign, with his wife and children.

 The first records of the church indicate it was rebuilt some time after 1066 by the Lord of the Manor, William Paganel, who gave it, with other possessions of his, to Drax Priory in the time of Archbishop Thurstan (1119–1140).

Saltaire United Reformed Church is a Grade I listed building built in 1859 by Sir Titus Salt in the village of Saltaire, now a World Heritage Site.

Built of greenstone in the early English style, St Margaret is partly 13th century with traces of Norman and the external features mainly Victorian.

The treasures inside include two notable medieval monuments to past rectors, the most prominent is of William de Harrington, who died around 1350, dressed in cassock and hood with a skull cap, his feet are supported on a bracket decorated with a green man and his head on a pillow supported on two angels.

There are interesting features of many periods in this unassuming village church, which had a thatched roof until 1869.
