A beautiful, well loved, 15th/16th century medieval church, set at the top of the village.

A small and ancient downland church which is very much in the centre of the isolated and rural village of East Marden in the South Downs National Park.

Dreamy rural church with romantic interior, overlooking pasture land which leads down to the winding Wye, a romantic and historic How Caple which is understandably one of Herefordshire's most popular wedding churches.

Approached by a narrow lane above a steep slope and surrounded by trees, Up Marden is perhaps the hardest to find of the downland churches.

Seen from the lane it is a thatched brick building, whitewashed except for where the windows and doors are picked out in red brick.

The church was built in 1956 and is Grade II because of its unusual architecture, particularly the walls which contain hundreds of small panes of coloured glass.

St Catherine's is at the heart of the pretty village of Ludham, in the Norfolk Broads National Park.

Sir John Betjeman wrote that it was 'worth travelling 200 miles and being sick in the coach to have seen inside this many vista'd church'.
