Our village church dates back to around 1200AD and was restored by the Victorians in 1862, the church is full of history and has some stunning architecture and contents.

Since 1461, the broad street of this busy little town and much of the countryside around has looked up to the elegant pinnacled tower of St Mildred's.

The first church was built on this site in 1815 and was the second Catholic church built since the Reformation in the city of Belfast.

Acton Parish Church, Church of Ireland, Poyntzpass received £4,000 of funding from the National Churches Trust. This is as part of the Treasure Ireland project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Pilgrim Trust and the Department for Communities.

The abbey was built on the site of the pivotal Battle of Hastings, and contains the traditional location of King Harold's death.
