Hagbourne parish church was built, or rebuilt, at the beginning of the 12th century, and consisted then of a nave and chancel, now only a few walls remain from this time.

Wales only Oratory of Saint Philip Neri is a stunning Perpendicular Gothic revival building featuring an authentic relic of St Alban, Briton's First Martyr; a Pugin Marian Altar in the Lady Chapel; and a full sized exhibition of the Shroud of Turin, the Burial Cloth of Christ.

There was a chapel here ‘the Chapel of Raht’ soon after 1100, founded by the Norman Lord Robert Fitzhamon, as a Chapel of Ease to his priory church of St Mary in Cardiff.

This is a story of two halves, the first half is about St Leonard's detached tower, which, after examination of is timbers by dendrochronology can be dated very accurately to the winter of 1195-6.

The earliest part of St Michael's is the 12th century nave.

The tale of St Andrew's church began in the last decade of the 19th century when Cardiff was a town growing around the docks which were built by the Marquises of Bute.

The building was designed by the eminent Welsh architect, Sir William Beddoes Rees of Cardiff, opened in September 1904, Rees designed 19 Welsh churches of which only 6 survive as places of worship.

With its commanding central tower and elevated position, this cruciform church presides over its village very much like a small cathedral.

Close to the book town of Hay on Wye, St Mary’s has some original Norman features including the blocked up ‘devils door’ in the north wall.
