A 170 year-old 'Victorian gem' set in its own churchyard in the heart of the pretty village of Kidmore End, South Oxfordshire, four miles north west of Reading.

Lesser known than its neighbour, Lower Slaughter, Upper Slaughter is equally pretty.

Traditionally and affectionately known as the Cathedral of the Forest, dating back to the early 1200s before the village of Newland came into existence.

This ancient and beautiful church stands on a site probably used for Christian worship for at least 1200 years.

This site has been a place of worship since 1854, and was frequented by Queen Victoria when in residence on the Isle of Wight, the very fabric of our church is rich in royal history and heritage.
