This tiny chapel may well have been built as a chantry chapel in memory of Robert de Tattershall who died in 1212 and whose effigy it is thought to be, lies beside the altar.

Standing on a mound in the centre of the village our church is an unknown gem, here are intriguing masons marks, a 1498 incised slab, a 1595 brass and a medieval altar stone.

The tower is well buttressed and unusually decorated , the first is accounted for by the susceptibility of the earth to subside on account of the Romans extracting iron stone from the vicinity.
