St Mary's has occupied this site for over 900 years, although we are uncertain of the date of consecration.

The first chapel on this site was a meeting room in a building also used as a pub called The Plough, which stood here in the 17th century.

A beautiful church in the heart of Pembrokeshire countryside, renowned for the striking 17th century monument to the Howard Family, along with its link to General Sir Thomas Picton and William Laud, Archbishop of Canterbury.

Under the Act of 1843, districts were separated from large parishes and were known as ‘Peel Districts’, from Sir Robert Peel who promoted the Act.

St Mary's church is the centrepiece of a substantial village green, unusual in the region and is home to two 5th to 6th century inscribed stones.

The church is Norman with Perpendicular additions.

This is one of the best Victorian churches in Wiltshire built by Pearson in 1866 to 68.

The present church was built in 1881 on the site of a chapel, Capel Mair, which dated from Norman times.
