Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Carey is a mid to late 19th century large church within the town centre, in a version of Early English Gothic style. Built from yellow brick with stone dressings and window tracery. The tall gabled road front has lower side bays under steep pyramidal roofs and features buttresses.
The church sanctuary, built in 1861, comprises a pair of unusual Gothic windows on the west face. The interior remains the classic Victorian design with pews and gallery centred around the carved pulpit. When built, the church was gifted an Alfred Kirkland pipe organ which is of note to the Pipe Organ Society.
