Lovely 15th century Grade II* village church that is an absolute gem on the inside.
Bilsby, Lincolnshire
The church is stuccoed. It has an 18th century stone tower with brick battlements. The pulpit is exceptional. The stem is the bole of a tree, with its steps cut from another.
A memorial slab commemorates Sir John Byllesby who died in 1640. He was a prominent figure in his day. His descendant, Major H M Byllesby served in the US Air Service and is largely responsible for the restoration of the church in 1918.
Irby in the Marsh, Lincolnshire
This quaint 13th century church which is medieval in origin is built mainly of greenstone and brick. Re-detailed in 1770, it was also restored during 1886. A 15th century plain octagonal font is well worth a viewing.
