A place of worship has existed on this site since 1787 when a Chapel of Ease was built by Lord Portman. In 1894 it became the Church of the Annunciation and was then rebuilt and rededicated in 1914. The church was designed by Sir Walter Taper. It is famous for its interior, with remarkable features including its reredos, stations of the cross, Somerset Memorial, stained glass, relics, paintings, organ, and much more.
