Awarded £7,500 for replacement of stolen lead from south aisle roof with stainless steel.

There is known to have been a church on the site in Saxon times, but the church of today was built in the 13th century by Sir John de Meriet, next to his manor house. The earliest surviving feature is the west tower which has thick walls tapering externally. Its date is not certain but its arch may be of the later 13th century.

This a superb high Victorian church in the local ham stone with a fascinating severe saddleback tower and much stained glass by Ward & Hughes.
