The first meeting house was in Springfield Road and right from the start, a brass band was to be seen and heard. The Salvation Army later moved into premises on Moulsham Street, which today is still called The Citadel by the many retail businesses today. In 1974 a new site was bought on Parkway/Baddow Road and in 2009 the 35 year old building was knocked down and rebuilt, resulting in a state of the art building that is used constantly during the week for many varied activities as well as church on Sundays.
