This nonconformist church was founded in 1692 after the Great Ejection.

The royal coat of arms of George I confirms the legality of this dissenting congregation.

On the walls are monuments recording significant figures in the church’s history, including Charles Darwin who worshiped here as a boy and had his early schooling from the minister.
