The Friends House was built between 1924 - 1927 and incorporates a meeting room large enough for at least 1500 Quakers.
Designed by H and HW Inwood in a Gothic style, famously criticised by Pugin, and built between 1824 and 1827.

Built as a plain preaching box in an elegant Gothic style by H and HW Inwood between 1824 and 1827, the apse was added by Ewan Christian in 1888. It has a central tower, prominent pinnacles and a row of twelve windows along the north elevation. Internally, the space is articulated by elegant cast iron columns, supporting Gothic style arches. The ceiling contains the associated rib vaulting. The calvary has been recently restored.
