It was rebuilt almost from scratch in the mid 14th century, with nave, chancel, and with north and south aisles the whole length of the church.

Inside it is light, airy and spacious, with two elegant lines of arches. In the chancel are handsome 15th century stalls, of a kind most often seen in cathedrals rather than parish churches. On the walls are original, oval text boards.

The church was damaged by bombing in World War II but was subsequently fully restored.
