The large brick chapel is the Hastings Chapel, built by Lord Hastings in 1558. Its windows are closer to the domestic Tudor style than Gothic.

The main church, built of a mixture of flint and stone, is basically Norman but with 13th century north nave arcade, chancel and tower.

There is a large monument to Thomas Gray in the adjoining field, now owned by the National Trust.
