Tucked away up the hill, in its steep churchyard, St John's can be hard to find but it's worth the effort. This simple little church, built in 1845 by the London Lead Mining Company to serve the mining community of Nenthead, has a number of interesting features from older churches; including an ancient refectory table as an altar, a medieval communion rail, War Memorial listing those who served in the World Wars and a model village next door!
