St Michael and All Angels
Leafield, Oxfordshire
The size and grandeur of St Mary's reflects the fact that Shipton parish used to include Ramsden and Leafield, villages that now have Victorian churches of their own.

Largely 13th century, St Mary's stands between the Old Prebendal House and the village green. The tower and broach spire are typically Early English, with some fine detailing.
Inside, the church is quite plain, with aisles on both sides of the nave and late Norman capitals in the chancel arch.
Most of the windows are from the 13th and 14th century. Several monuments commemorate the Reade family, squires here for 200 years. The 15th century pulpit is carved from a single block of stone; the font is of the same period.
