There are interesting features of many periods in this unassuming village church, which had a thatched roof until 1869.

The chancel is the oldest part, with its Early English lancet windows from the 13th century.

The nave and tower came a century later, and there is a typical 15th century Suffolk porch, with panels of stone and flint. The three decker pulpit is Jacobean, and a notable addition of recent times is the contemporary stained glass in the east window, depicting the story of Christ's appearance on the road to Emmaus.

The rather dim light inside the church at first makes it difficult to see the remarkable medieval wall paintings, but look closely to see St George and St Christopher on the north wall, and a Doom above the chancel arch.
