Marshfield, Gloucestershire
The church of St Mary the Virgin is constructed in the perpendicular style, dating from around 1470, when the monks of Tewkesbury Abbey rebuilt the earlier church, lengthening the chancel, adding a clerestory and replacing the central tower with the existing west tower. A major restoration was carried out in the 1860s, with some reordering work completed during the early part of the 20th century. This included the restoration of the tower, new choir stalls and chancel panelling, restoration of the porch, the removal of the organ from the gallery and the repaving of the chancel floor.
