St Peter ad Vincula

It is for its array of medieval wall paintings that St Peter's is celebrated. Those in the north aisle are oil on plaster and include a Martyrdom of Thomas ' Becket and a delightful Virgin and Child, strongly coloured and sophisticated for such an early date (about 1300).

Also depicted are St Margaret with the dragon that ate her, the execution of Thomas of Lancaster, and other scenes, some now very faded.

Over the nave arcades are scenes from the Passion, which may be 15th century. They are one in a much simpler, almost primitive manner.
