Tabernacle Chapel was built in 1774, and is known as one of the outstanding buildings of the region.

Originally a Methodist congregation, it split from the Methodist Association in 1790. After remodelling costing £1,500 in 1874, it was expanded to seat 750.
The interior with apse and barrel vault is embellished with fine ironwork by WA Baker of Newport. The ornate facade is painted stucco.
