Trinity is a joint Methodist and United Reformed church. It was formed in 1973 when Trinity Methodist Church and Sutton United Reformed Church (formerly Sutton Congregational Church) decided to come together.

Our building was opened in 1907 as Sutton Wesleyan Methodist Church, to meet the needs of the growing congregation and replacing a building in Carshalton Road. Our building is an attractive landmark in the town, and is Grade 2 listed.

The exterior of our church is in Kentish Ragstone and the highly unusual crown and lantern spire is shared with Newcastle Cathedral and St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh. The interior resembles a traditional parish church, except for the wide nave, which means that everyone has an unrestricted view of the pulpit indicating the importance placed on preaching. Blessed with an excellent pipe organ the church also undertakes several major choral events during the year.

Every weekday the church runs a coffee shop providing morning coffees and light lunches. Particularly appreciated by the lonely as the staff ensure a warm welcome and a friendly chat in a warm and comfortable restaurant. Every day there are many local organisations running groups for all ages and for all needs from toddlers to keeping fit for the elderly, karate to badminton, uniformed youth organisations, exercise classes and football tuition for toddlers, support for refugees and migrants, and AA amongst many others.
